This bolo started with a piece of fossil ivory that stopped me — the bark colors from thousands of years in Alaskan permafrost were too good to hide. Deep ochres, creamy whites, and that unmistakable vivianite mineralization that only time and the earth can make. I hand carved and shaped the slide to let those colors lead, then paired it with a Kingman Turquoise cabochon — I hand-select each stone directly from the Kingman Mine in Arizona, one of the most storied turquoise sources in the American Southwest, and a natural complement to the warmth of the ivory.
Finished with nickel silver tips and a high-quality braided leather cord with a smooth, easy slide that won't mark the leather. Solid in hand. One of one.
All fossil ivory is sourced by The Boneyard Alaska — discovered and gathered by the Reeves family from ancient permafrost deposits in Alaska. No modern animals are harmed. This is Ice Age history you can wear.

Enjoy it! Keep dry as ivory doesn't like being wet. Use a clean dry polishing cloth to buff. Treat ivory jewelry like a fine gem or fossil. No soaps or detergents. If you have any other care questions let me know. Thank you, Kristin
