Ethical Sourcing

My Commitment to Ethical Sourcing

Every piece I create begins with a material I believe in completely. I want to be clear about where it comes from and why it matters: no animals are harmed in the making of my work.

Fossil Ivory: Ancient Materials, Not Modern Ivory

The woolly mammoth ivory I work with is fossil ivory — recovered from Ice Age animals that lived over 10,000 years ago. It is fundamentally different from modern ivory in every way that counts:

  • Age: Fossilized material from extinct Ice Age species, not from any living animal
  • Legal: Fossil ivory is fully legal to buy, sell, and own internationally
  • Ethical: No animals are harmed, hunted, or poached to obtain these materials
  • Conservation-minded: Choosing fossil ivory creates no demand for elephant ivory

Sourced from The Boneyard Alaska

I source all fossil materials from The Boneyard Alaska, a permitted private fossil site in Alaska. Every piece is discovered and gathered by the Reeves family, legally and ethically excavated, authenticated as a genuine Ice Age fossil, and fully compliant with all applicable regulations.

My Promise

I stand firmly against poaching and the illegal wildlife trade. If you have questions about my materials or sourcing practices, I welcome the conversation.
