About Me
Greetings! I’m Kristin, and I grew up on an Indian Mound in Jacksonville, Florida. My childhood was filled with adventures: swimming in the river, hunting for Indian pottery, and collecting shark teeth at the beach. Over the years, my passion for exploration evolved into a love for rock hounding, gold prospecting, and bone hunting.
I’ve had the unique opportunity to work as a Tusk Restoration Specialist for my brother John and his wife, Ramona, at Fairbanks Gold Company. Over time, I earned the title of Master Boner, an achievement that comes with cataloging over 10,000 finds. Everything we uncover gets carefully collected, dried, classified, and stored to preserve its historical significance. My brother, the only Super Boner on the team, has surpassed 100,000 personal finds! You can follow him and everything happening at the Boneyard Alaska on Instagram @theboneyardalaska!
The discovery of The Boneyard Alaska in the early 2000s, located on Fairbanks Gold Company property, has been nothing short of incredible. This site has yielded over 300,000 artifacts, including complete skeletons. Today, The Boneyard is one of the largest privately owned collections of Ice Age megafauna remains in the world, second only to a few state-owned collections in places like South Dakota, Mexico, Siberia, and Russia.
The Boneyard’s significance has attracted global attention from paleontologists, scientists, and Ice Age enthusiasts. My brother John has shared its story on The Joe Rogan Experience (episodes #1918 and #2080). I encourage you to check them out—Joe’s curiosity about our discoveries and the ongoing research is contagious!
Many people ask how old these bones are. Carbon dating indicates they’re between 10,000 and 40,000 years old, spanning the extinction event that wiped out many Ice Age species. Alongside bones, we’ve found preserved organic material, hair, mummified small animals, and remains of species previously unknown to this region. Two of the most fascinating finds include the skulls, jaws and bones of Dire Wolves and a bright blue feather lodged inside a tusk end—its color is as vibrant as if it were freshly plucked.

As for me? I’ve found immense joy in creating unique pieces from mammoth ivory fragments. Each item is a labor of love, and I only sell pieces I’d proudly keep in my own collection. My work includes guitar picks, knives, arrowheads, bolo ties, shark teeth, cabochons, pendants, and, more recently, carved and inked designs. I also take custom orders and special requests.
Thank you for visiting my page—I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I enjoy making them!
