Woolly Mammoth fossil carved ivory Christian cross. When I saw the fragment of tusk bark with the beautiful mineralization I knew what I wanted to make with it. I knew was special the moment I saw it. The outer bark of the tusk was alive with vivianite mineralization — deep blues, rich browns, and warm tans layered across the surface in patterns that took thousands of years to form. And I wanted to preserve it and enhance it as best I could.
At 2-1/4", it's a substantial piece with real presence, and tells a story that no two pieces ever tell the same way to any human, I call it Mammoth Magic. A sterling silver bail completes it, ready to wear as a pendant that is as much a conversation piece as it is a keepsake and heirloom.
The fossil ivory I use is exclusively sourced from The Boneyard Alaska. Discovered and recovered from ancient permafrost deposits and a modern age mystery as to why so many species of Megafauna remains were buried there tens of thousands of years ago. No modern animals are harmed — this is ethically sourced material.

Enjoy it! Keep dry as ivory doesn't like being wet. Use a clean dry polishing cloth to buff. Treat ivory jewelry like a fine gem or fossil. No soaps or detergents. If you have any other care questions let me know. Thank you, Kristin
