The Vivianite on this one stopped me mid-carve. That deep blue-green mineral forms inside the tusk over millennia — you can't add it, you can't fake it, and not every piece has it. This one does, running through the bark layer in a way that plays beautifully against the warm ivory tones beneath.
Hand carved and polished from a fossil ivory fragment recovered by the Reeves family at The Boneyard Alaska in Fairbanks. The material dates 12,000–40,000 years old. Sterling silver components. The bark texture is preserved as found — I shaped around it rather than sanding it away.
If you know Vivianite, you know why this one is special. If you don't, this is a good introduction. One of One. Add it to your collection!

Care Instructions
Enjoy it! Keep dry as ivory doesn't like being wet. Use a clean dry polishing cloth to buff. Treat ivory jewelry like a fine gem or fossil. No soaps or detergents. If you have any other care questions let me know. Thank you, Kristin
