This pipe made itself — A highly rare and unusual natural tusk split revealing a look into the ice age. It wanted to be what it is. I just helped it along.
"Ice Age Ember" began as a natural inner-core separation from a Woolly Mammoth tusk sourced by The Boneyard Alaska from ancient Alaskan permafrost. The piece revealed its own form: I didn't touch the rare and interesting inner core characteristics, truly rare. It is made to rest steady on any surface, making it as easy to display.
Measures approximately 2-1/4 inches, shaped from a very unusual split inside the tusk's inner core where thousands of years of mineralization have left behind a palette of deep amber, ivory, and earth tones that no two tusks ever repeat.
The natural bark, original texture, and mineral character have been preserved throughout. No dyes, no stains — only what the permafrost left behind.
This is a one-of-one functional collectible.
This piece is sold as a collectible and display object. Any functional use is at the buyer's discretion. Natural fossil ivory is an organic material and its performance as a smoking utensil has not been tested or guaranteed by me.
Fossil ivory sourced by The Boneyard Alaska — discovered and gathered by the Reeves family from ancient permafrost deposits. No modern animals were harmed.

Enjoy it! Keep dry as ivory doesn't like being wet. Use a clean dry polishing cloth to buff. Treat ivory jewelry like a fine gem or fossil. No soaps or detergents. If you have any other care questions let me know. Thank you, Kristin
