I made this one from a raw fragment of woolly mammoth fossil ivory, and what stopped me the moment I picked it up was the vivianite blue — a rare mineral staining that develops on the outer bark layers and mineralizes inside crevice's and cracks. I didn't work around it, I made it the centerpiece. That natural bark surface, with its quiet, striking blues, greens and browns, is left largely as the earth made it. I carefully preserved and enhanced what I could. Everything else I shaped by hand into something balanced, purposeful, and genuinely satisfying to hold. Length: 7"
I call it "Executive's Point." It has the weight and presence of a well-made tool and the soul of something far older. The kind of object that earns a permanent place on a serious desk — picked up between thoughts, turned over in the hand, and held allowing the presence of "Mammoth Magic". It will start conversations without trying.
The ivory was sourced by the Reeves family at The Boneyard Alaska, recovered from permafrost ground in Alaska. Genuine fossil ivory from a woolly mammoth that lived over 10,000 years ago — no modern animals are ever harmed. I shaped, finished, and balanced it myself in my shop at Ice Age Treasures.

Enjoy it! Keep dry as ivory doesn't like being wet. Use a clean dry polishing cloth to buff. Treat ivory jewelry like a fine gem or fossil. No soaps or detergents. If you have any other care questions let me know. Thank you, Kristin
