I hand carved this Christian cross from a broken, irreparable section of Woolly Mammoth tusk recovered by The Boneyard Alaska. Working with fossil ivory means letting the material guide the piece, giving a fragment of an ancient tusk a new purpose while keeping its history close.
I finished the carved cross with ink and 22k gold leaf, then added a Swarovski crystal for a small touch of sparkle. The gilding brings warmth to the design, while the crystal catches the light without taking away from the ivory itself.
The fossil ivory comes from extinct Ice Age animals, with the material dating 12,000–40,000 years old. No modern animals are harmed. This one-of-a-kind pendant brings together a symbol of faith, ancient material, and the quiet details of handwork.

Enjoy it! Keep dry as ivory doesn't like being wet. Use a clean dry polishing cloth to buff. Treat ivory jewelry like a fine gem or fossil. No soaps or detergents. If you have any other care questions let me know. Thank you, Kristin
