I made this one during a quiet stretch, and it's a piece I really enjoyed making. Three mountain peaks, a waterfall threading down between them, and a bright yellow bloom of flowers right in the crutch of the headwaters — all hand-etched and inked by me into a piece of genuine woolly mammoth fossil ivory.
Scrimshaw and tooling has become a favorite way to work with my material. There's something about it. Every line scratched by hand, ink worked into the surface, the image slowly emerging. Perfectly imperfect, like all of us. This piece came together in a way I really enjoyed, and I think that shows in the scene.
The ivory itself was sourced at The Boneyard Alaska, recovered from ancient permafrost deposits in Alaska. It's genuine fossil ivory from a woolly mammoth that lived over 10,000 years ago — no modern animals are ever harmed. I finished it with a sterling silver bale so it's ready to wear and treasure the moment it arrives.

Enjoy it! Keep dry as ivory doesn't like being wet. Use a clean dry polishing cloth to buff. Treat ivory jewelry like a fine gem or fossil. No soaps or detergents. If you have any other care questions let me know. Thank you, Kristin
